5 key habits of high energy people

Our individual makeup is obviously highly unique. Are you the same person you were 10 years ago? If not, how have things changed on all levels: mindset, mental, emotional, and physical?

The people in your tightest circle (remember those 5 people that influence you), your life’s experiences, your attitude, and the way you spend your leisure time are constantly creating or shifting your perception, decisions, and movement.

This topic felt important to me for a couple reasons. One, for those who are high-energy or know high-energy people to provide an understanding, a look into their eyes/minds, but also what features can be attributed to being such.

In my eyes, below are the five ‘markers’ of high energy people:

1 – They put in the time, effort, and energy in their wellness, endeavors, and relationships. It has become clear that this attitude and these decisions are worth it. The outcomes and results (even if seem less than favorable), are the result of putting all their chips on the table. And that’s a good feeling! It means they did their best and what came of it was how the dice were meant to roll.

As Jimmy Dean said, “I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.”

2 – They are eager to grow and evolve. Be it learning from an anxiety-ridden relationship or the flop of a medication for a chronic illness, there’s a determination to pause, reflect, maybe rewind to gain clarity, and then propel themselves forward. They focus on a new doctor, new treatment, and new situation. And when stepping into the newness, they are applying the lessons learned and personal growth has been achieved.

3 – They have fewer regrets. When going “all in” they can depart from or understand a grand finale without having those deep feelings of regret. I was raised in an environment where you put your best foot forward, take time to do the school project, communicate feelings, and show through actions the intent toward the life and overall health desired. As I’ve touched on before, our childhood impacts us far more than we initially realize.

As Abraham Lincoln once said, “I walk slowly, but I never walk backward.”

4 – Their energy is not solely physical. Their mental energy is strong.  They can be referred to as a lifelong learner. They enjoy mental stimulation – new projects, hobbies, books, and are always learning from others. Simply put, they are a sponge for new information, seeking more depth and understanding.

5 – They don’t limit themselves. It’s “the sky’s the limit” kind of mindset. They overcome any voices in their head that they can’t do it, don’t deserve it, or aren’t qualified for it.

Maybe you do or don’t view yourself as high energy, but can relate to a few of these qualities.

Human behavior, personality, and attitude can be so enthralling. I’ve come to really value learning more about why people do and say the things they do – because it allows us as a society to garner a better understanding of the way we each choose to live.

That in turn, can increase respect and compassion within our population.
