I’m going to let you in on my secrets to help make the third trimester of your pregnancy easier.
We are basically superheroes, but I don’t need to tell you that!
Carrying a baby, delivering a baby, and learning all the things once baby has arrived is a big, beautiful blessing that involves a lot of sweat and tears.
What are the 5 things I recommend to make your third trimester easier?
1) Get in some form of small movement – whether it be a walk around the neighborhood, playing fetch with your dog, stretching, or a few minutes of meditation-based Pilates. This small amount of effort and exercise will help you physically, emotionally and mentally in all phases – now, during labor & delivery, and postpartum.
2) Take a warm shower or bath. You are likely tired, sore, and feeling all sorts of achy. Trust me, 10 minutes morning and night in the shower will pay off. You’ll sleep like a baby, almost! 😊
3) Cut your energy expenditure in half. Analyze how you are exerting energy and identify what you don’t have to do today. Can the laundry wait? Is there an easier meal to prep?
4) Listen to your body, especially when it comes to hunger cues. I leaned in to what it was telling me. I ate quite a bit in the first few hours after waking and then lightly throughout the day until bedtime. That is what worked for me and baby; what works for you?
5) Remind yourself that the very end of pregnancy has a series of new challenges and it’s just for a limited amount of time. Your body will re-regulate. You’ll find a new normal postpartum. (For me, baby’s legs and rump will be out of my ribcage and relief will be here soon!)
