Between the grocery stores aisles packed to the brim with various baby products, and ads constantly popping up as you use your phone, it can be difficult to determine which baby food brands are healthy.
So, let’s simplify it.
What are the healthy baby food brands?
Our youngest generation deserves to start off filling their little bodies with the healthiest food possible. Picking out baby food shouldn’t be a ‘grab and go’ experience with zero thought put into it. Proper nourishment and nutrition are important. (Yes, I believe in letting kids be kids and enjoying all the yummy treats too.)
I’m here to explain what baby food brands I find healthy and that have become staples in my home.
These are brands I actually trust. (Few, very few…)
To be fair, the same rules apply when shopping for the adults in my family!
What makes a baby food brand healthy?
- Minimal and real ingredients
- All ingredients that you can pronounce (and know exactly what they are without an Internet search)
- Includes healthy fats
- Good sources of proteins
- Lots of veggies!
What makes a baby food brand unhealthy?
- All the processed (junk) ingredients you can’t pronounce
- When there are 15+ ingredients
- When you are looking hard for the real food in it
- All carb – no solid protein sources, veggies or healthy fats (take a look at the nutrition label)
What are my favorite baby food brands?
- Serenity kids
- Pumpkin tree
- Once upon a farm
- Happybaby
- Beechnut organics (for purees when baby is little)

How are these brands different than the others?
They are USDA Organic.
They are using clean, simple ingredients.
These aren’t filled with fillers (aka junk).
It’s as close as it gets (but much more time efficient) to pureeing whole foods into meals yourself.
Why is Serenity Kids a healthy choice?
It is USDA Organic, offers solid protein packets and fantastic veggie packets. There are no added sweeteners, it’s ethically sourced and is truly a “clean brand.”

In just one packet, taking grass fed beef as an example, the ingredients are: grass-fed beef, organic kale, sweet potatoes and water. Five grams of protein, 5 grams of fat and a full serving of veggies too.
Its dairy free smoothies + collagen are so good. A big hit and a great start to your kid’s day. Veggies combined with organic coconut cream and grass-fed bovine collagen. I’ve been known to enjoy one as well! Shh…
Other reasons I love these brands?
Once upon a farm is USDA Organic and offers a healthy, simple toddler snack – tractor wheels!
There are a lot of ‘no’s’ in the tractor wheels:
-No artificial flavors
-No juice concentrates
-No rice, soy or corn
-Includes real fruits and veggies
-Soft, tasty and the perfect ‘cookie’ for after a park play!
Why I like Pumpkin tree?
I love how different its offerings are. Think apple, pea and spinach; fruits, veggies with seed butter.
Each of these brands are clean, provide great flavor profiles, and are easy for little hands.
When our kids are happy and healthy with satisfied tummies, it makes us parents equally happy.
