What do you want more time for?

I bet we’ve all found ourselves saying we “need more time for …”

School age children likely say they need more time to finish an assignment. Busy professionals may chime in that they need more time with a client to land an important deal. Parents may say they need more time in the day to accomplish their running “to do” lists.

So, what’s yours?

For me, today, tomorrow, and so forth, I want more time with my loved ones.

Life is precious. Our time is not guaranteed. And as such, that reality is a motivating factor for me to do what I can to have more time for them, with them.

This correlates with my health. I’m so aware of that. In order to hopefully have more time, I must prioritize my health, see doctors, get proper sleep, partake in mindful movement, minimize stressors, indulge in fresh air (Vitamin D!), and find much joy in the day. I need to take care of myself. Plain and simple.

Yet it truly is a large puzzle that some days feels as though it has airplane turbulence intersecting.

Liken your health to ROI (return on investment). The more you invest in your health (mind, body), the investment will flourish. Suffice it to say the opposite can occur too. I recently spoke with a cab driver on a relatively long car ride.

The healthcare system in his home country is challenging. He said he avoided health costs as much as possible over years, but now in his late 40s, health problems are starting to pop up. He knows he avoided preventive care but is taking his health seriously now and addressing and doing his best to minimize and if possible, remedy the health matters.

It’s never too late. These stories inspire me. He also shared how he believes each of us should “have something to look forward to.” It keeps us going. I couldn’t agree more.

Why not interlock your health, what you want more of, and be immersed in the joy of life?

Today is a new day and a great one to start prioritizing your health.
